1) Southwest Air Rewards Visa

New members can earn 50,000 bonus points after making at least $2,000 in eligible net purchases within the first three months that your account is open. You also receive an additional 6,000 points after each cardmember anniversary. Members earn double points per dollar spent on Southwest Airlines purchases as well as on qualifying transactions at participating Hotel and Rental Car partners. All other purchases earn one point per dollar. There is no cap on the amount of points you may earn and points do not expire. There are no foreign transaction fees charged when using the card outside of the U.S. and it is chip-enabled for enhanced security. There is a $99 annual fee which is applied to your first billing statement.

2) Delta Gold American Express

American Express is currently offering qualified new applicants the chance to earn 50,000 Bonus Miles (this is an online offer only). To qualify you must make at least $1,000 in net purchases within the first three months that your account is open. You will also receive a $50 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new card within the first three months. Members earn double miles on Delta purchases. All other purchases earn one mile per dollar spent. You also receive the first checked bag free and priority boarding. Members are not charged foreign transactions fees when using the card abroad. There is an annual fee of $95 which is waived for the first year.

3) Alaska Airlines Visa

New members can earn 25,000 bonus miles, once approved, as well as a Coach Companion Fare every year from $121 ($99 plus taxes and fees from $22). Cardholders receive a free first checked bag (as do up to six additional passengers on your reservation). Members earn 5X miles per dollar spent using Mileage Plan Dining, 3X miles on Alaska Airlines purchases, and one mile per dollar spent on all other purchases. There is no limit on the number of miles you may earn. Miles can be redeemed for award tickets on Alaska Airlines or towards travel with more than a dozen airline partners including Delta, American Airlines, and British Airways. Award tickets start at 7,500 miles. This card has an annual fee of $75.

4) United MileagePlus Explorer Card

New account holders can earn 30,000 bonus miles after making at least $1,000 in eligible net purchases within the first three months that your account is open. You have the opportunity to earn an additional 10,000 miles if you spend at least $25,000 within a calendar year. Members earn double miles on tickets purchased from United Airlines. All other purchases earn one mile per dollar spent. Cardholders receive the first checked bag for free. There are no foreign transaction fees associated with this card. The annual fee of $95 is waived for the first year.
